Waiting

Blow wind blow,
Bring more snow.
Fair white flakes
Bleak gray break,
Making me sing,
Waiting for spring.

It's cold today.
A thin crust of snow and ice barely cover the corn-stalk stubble.
My heart is waiting for the thaw.
